Paying Electronic Bills

How do I pay electronic bills?
If you receive your bills online in OnLine Bill Pay, an
electronic bill icon appears in the Pay Bills section of
the Payment
Center. Electronic bill information also appears in the
Payment Assistant.

One of the following conditions is true:
-
You've added an electronic version of your bill, but you haven't received your
first electronic bill.
-
You're receiving electronic bills from the biller,
but you don't have any bills due.

Click the electronic bill due icon or the e-bill links
in the Payment Assistant to see a summary of the unpaid bills
you've received in the past 45 days. You can pay or file
each bill listed on the summary page. When you pay your bills
from the summary page, each payment is associated with the
bill you select.
A reminder also appears below the bill in the Pay Bills
section that shows the amount due and due date from your
bill. The reminder appears as soon as OnLine Bill Pay receives
the bill from your biller.
Note: If you pay your bills from the Payment Center without
viewing the bill summary, the payments are associated with
the most recent unpaid bills.

What if I have more than one bill due for the same biller?
Click the electronic bill due icon or the e-bill links
in the Payment Assistant to see the summary of your unpaid
bills. Pay each bill in the list separately.
For example, if you closed out your utilities at the end
of the previous month, your utility company may send you
a regular monthly bill and then a final bill for any remaining
days of service. Let's say the first bill is due on the 15th
and the amount due is $120.00; the final bill is due on the
30th and the amount due is $55.00. When you sign in to OnLine
Bill Pay on the 5th, you see both bills listed on the summary
page. You should select each bill and make two separate payments:
a regular monthly payment of $120 and a final payment of
$55.
Note: If you make a payment from the Payment Center without
viewing the bill summary and paying each bill separately,
the payment is only associated with the most recent bill.
In this example, you might make a single consolidated payment
of $175. If you do not select and pay each bill from the
bill summary, the payment is only associated with the final
bill. The utility company may not apply the remaining portion
of the payment to the other unpaid bill. For this reason,
we do not recommend making consolidated payments. The best
way to ensure that the biller correctly credits your payments
is to make a payment for each bill.

Can I pay electronic bills outside of OnLine Bill Pay?
Yes, you can pay an electronic bill by some other means,
such as by check.
However, when you pay a bill outside of OnLine Bill Pay,
the status of the bill remains Unpaid and the electronic
bill due icon appears next to the biller name in the Pay
Bills section. To change the status, you can file the bill
and add a note about the bill's resolution.

Can I pay someone else's electronic bills?
No, the bill must be in your name or your spouse's name.

The amount due for an electronic bill seems incorrect. What
should I do?
If you have questions about an electronic bill, please
contact the biller directly. All the information on the electronic
bill comes directly from the biller.
When you pay the electronic bill, you can enter an amount
that is different from the amount due on the bill.

Can I view paid electronic bills?
You can view the paid electronic bills when you view the
details of your bill payment. OnLine Bill Pay stores
your bill payment history for six months (180 days).
