Setting Up Reminders

What is the earliest date I can make a payment?
Some billers let you make payments on the next business
day. For most bills, it can take two to four business days
to
make the payment.
When you enter an amount for the payment, OnLine Bill Pay
automatically displays the earliest date you can select for
the company or person to receive the payment. You can either
accept this date or change it to a later one.

How do I know which dates I can use for making my payments?
You can click the calendar icon to determine the dates
you can select for making your payments. The calendar shows:
The pay dates available in the current month. You can scroll
to future months, if necessary.
The earliest date you can select for the biller to receive
the payment.
The due date for your bill, if you are paying an electronic
bill or if you set up reminders for the bill you are paying.
Also, when you enter an amount for the payment, OnLine Bill
Pay automatically displays the earliest date you can select
for the biller to receive the payment. You can either accept
this date or change it to a later one. The date must be a
business day (no weekends or holidays) that is not more than
a year in the future (or 365 days from today's date).

How far in advance of the due date should I make my payments?
Some billers let you make payments on the next business
day. For most bills, you should enter a pay date that is
at
least two to four business days from today. The pay date
is the date when you want the company or person to receive
the payment.
For example, if you have a bill due on the 15th, plan to
pay it at least by the 13th or earlier if the biller requires
more than two days for processing or if the time period includes
any weekends or holidays.
Use the calendar to make sure the biller receives the payment
before the bill's due date. Making payments in advance of
the due date allows enough time for the biller to receive
the payment and credit it to your account.

How far in advance can I schedule my payments?
You can schedule a payment up to a year (365 days) from
today's date.

When is the money for the payment withdrawn from my payment
account?
If the payment is sent electronically, the funds for the
payment clear your payment account on the pay date. Otherwise,
funds clear your account when the company or person deposits
or cashes the check. Keep in mind, however, that you should
always have funds available to cover the payment on the
pay date.

When does a company or person receive my payment?
The company or person should receive the payment on the
pay date.
Billers that can receive electronic payments receive their
payments faster than others. If the company or person cannot
receive electronic payments, OnLine Bill Pay prints a check
and sends it to the billing address. This process can take
four or more days.
Note: Some billers may not always credit your account on
the same day that they receive the payment. Allow for extra
time in this situation so the payment is not considered late.
If you schedule a same-day payment, the biller receives
and acknowledges the payment on the current business day
or the next business day, depending on the time of day when
you enter your payment information. However, the biller's
payment system may not credit the payment to your account
until the next business day. If you want to verify the payment,
you may want to wait a day or two before contacting the biller.
